Success-week 2 Thing 3 continued

Success embedding!  Try, try again and again and again.  I don't know why it wouldn't go before.  I did the same thing each time but tried a new post instead of editing an old one.  Phew!

Week 2 Reflection

Well, I have spent a lot of time today on the computer, including learning how to access the information posted for each week.  Somehow, I missed the instructional part when I started this blog and jumped right in ... which explains my difficulties in editing posts and deleting. I am so absorbed with all this technology that my husband calls and I don't want to talk as I try to solve my problems.  He can hear the keyboard sounds and the lack of focus in my responses.  I have spent the whole day here on the computer, as I have contractors remodeling my kitchen and we were kind of stuck in the computer room.  But I can see myself in here addictively.  There is so much to explore and try.  I looked at some links under your tech tools and made a badge for my class and a magazine cover for my 25th wedding anniversary.  What fun!  I really appreciate all the work that went in to putting this online course together from the video support, the extra credit and the assignments. THANK YOU!

Working on kidblog

http://kidblog.org/MrsJacobsensMsPaynesFirstGraders/

I was trying to set up some things for our kid blog.  This just might be the spot where the students and teachers can try out technology, share their experiences and post their successes and thoughts.  I'm not sure yet for what I will use this blog.  I started to think that it would be a great spot to post assignments like the collaborative writing website.  I think that students will be excited about writing to their teacher and waiting for personal comments back.  I write notes to students on their homework so they know that I am checking it thoroughly.  This will provide one more avenue for reaching out to students.  But I can see that it could be time consuming.  I already spend way too much time on school.  Unfortunately, since I teach first graders and I'm unsure of their computer skills and computer resources- I don't see what I can replace this with ....

Week 1

I have just started a blog in response to an online course I am taking on technology.  I am an older teacher who feels she may become extinct if she doesn't get a handle on all the technology resources around me.  The sad thing is I'm probably one of the more tech savy people at school.  Everyone comes to me with computer questions/problems.  But I still feel that I am way behind.  Hence the reason I am taking this course.  Blogging is totally new to me. I can't get my head around the idea of an online diary.  I understand a blog spot for the classroom but ... for myself ...   so I hope I have done the right things for this course by creating this blog for registration.
